The Wood

Winter has been raised to guard the Wood, a strange forest behind her home that holds portals to other times and places. By day, she guides accidental travelers back through the thresholds; by night, the Wood becomes dangerous and hungry.

When Winter’s father vanishes on patrol, she must take over his role while trying to learn what happened to him. The Wood also begins changing, growing darker and more violent, and a traveler from the past named Henry arrives knowing more than he should.

Winter and Henry reluctantly work together, following clues about the Wood’s decay and the disappearances tied to it. As Winter breaks rules she was taught to obey, she has to decide who to trust and what she is willing to risk for family, the Wood, and the possibility of the truth.
