The Story

Joyce is a stressed, underappreciated secretary whose life changes when she crosses paths with Kede Tria, an alien commander visiting Earth on a diplomatic mission. What begins as a collision and an alarming choice turns into an enforced journey into alien space and a new role she never expected.

Onboard the alien ship, Joyce must navigate language barriers, cultural misunderstandings, political tension, and Kede’s overbearing protectiveness. Their connection is immediate but volatile, shaped by mistranslations, conflict, attraction, and the fact that the aliens do not always understand her words or her anger.

As threats rise around them, Joyce is changed in ways she never consented to, and the pair are pulled into broader struggles involving alien and human politics. The story follows their battle to survive the danger, confront control and trust issues, and reach a relationship resolution with an ending readers describe as an HEA.
