More about this book

The Story

The book continues directly after earlier installments as the world faces a worsening crisis: a powerful dragon has risen, armies are moving, and the major powers are being pushed toward collapse. Claydon Torcreek, Lizanne Lethridge, Corrick Hilemore, and other viewpoints are scattered across the world as they deal with war, politics, covert operations, and the consequences of new powers and knowledge.

As the threat spreads, the story follows multiple strands of preparation and resistance: military mobilization, travel across regions, investigations into old secrets, shifting alliances, and escalating conflict between humans and dragon forces. The narrative repeatedly builds toward the question of how, or whether, the protagonists can unite enough strength and knowledge to survive the coming confrontation.

The final movement converges on a large-scale showdown that brings together battle, machinery, magic, naval action, and aerial warfare. The ending resolves many major threads while leaving some relationships, world changes, and aftermath elements more open or lightly treated than some readers expected.
