More about this book

The Story

Cie is an elite assassin bound to a brutal kingdom and its ruling power structure, living with luxury, status, and no real freedom. When a job goes wrong, she discovers a witness to a political killing that could expose dangerous secrets.

That witness is Jemma, an ordinary citizen and journalist whose life collides with Cie’s world. Their attraction is immediate and intense, but it unfolds against violence, secrecy, and the pressures of a society built on slavery, colonization, and control.

As unrest grows and loyalties are tested, the two women are forced to confront what they want from each other, what they will excuse, and what their relationship costs in a system that rewards obedience and punishes dissent. The story centers the romance while the larger political conflict keeps tightening around them.
