Above World

Thirteen-year-old Aluna lives underwater in a genetically adapted community whose survival depends on failing breathing technology. When the elders refuse to act, she defies tradition and heads for the surface to find a solution before more people die.

Aluna is joined by her best friend Hoku, whose strengths lie in technology, caution, and problem-solving. As they travel into the Above World, they encounter other altered peoples and a world shaped by scarcity, technology, and long-buried history.

Their search for answers becomes a broader journey of survival, alliance-building, and self-discovery. Along the way they must navigate danger, competing factions, and the limits of the world they thought they knew while trying to save their people.
