The Story

In an alternate 1956, the Axis powers control much of the world, and an annual motorcycle race across their territory offers a rare path to Adolf Hitler. Yael, a survivor of concentration-camp experimentation, has the ability to change her appearance and is sent by the resistance to enter the race by impersonating the previous female winner.

As Yael races across continents, the story moves between the present competition and flashbacks to her earlier life, gradually revealing the trauma, losses, and people that shaped her mission. Her disguise is complicated by close attention from other racers, especially those with personal ties to the identity she is stealing.

The race itself becomes a test of speed, deception, loyalty, and resolve, with sabotage, secrets, and shifting allegiances all raising the stakes. As Yael gets closer to the chance to reach Hitler, she also has to confront how far she is willing to go to finish what she started.
