Reader Review Summary

From the moment I started reading "Good Boys - The Lost Tribe," I was drawn into Jeremy Robinson's wildly imaginative and action-packed new sci-fi adventure. The novel kicks off with a bang as ex-Army Ranger Micah Taylor and his date Jess Bender have a close encounter of the alien kind in the forests of New Hampshire. They quickly find themselves caught up in an intergalactic war between two advanced species - the noble Kynolari who have canine-like traits, and their merciless reptilian enemies the Draun.

What makes this book such an absolute delight is the perfect blend of huge-scale interstellar action and drama with deeply personal, heartwarming elements centered around humanity's bond with our furry best friends. Micah's loyal Golden Retriever Grover plays a major role, and the Kynolari alien crew led by the rambunctious Chihuahua-esque Chirk provide non-stop laughs with their irreverent banter and fish-out-of-water misunderstandings of human culture. The aliens' distinct voices and personalities shine through wonderfully.

The pacing is relentless, with massive battle sequences, daring escapes, double-crosses, and jaw-dropping reveals around every corner. But Robinson balances the high-octane thrills with plenty of heart and poignancy, especially in the emotional passages dealing with the human-dog connection. I guarantee you'll run the full gamut of laughing out loud to shedding some tears.

The world-building is also top-notch, presenting a rich backstory and lore around the warring alien species that unfolds at just the right pace. By the end, I was fully invested in their sweeping conflict and the key role that Earth seems destined to play going forward. Robinson has set the stage for an epic trilogy to come.

The universally glowing reviews rave about the entertainment value, clever genre mashup of sci-fi and dog appreciation, lovable character dynamics, and Robinson's signature blend of humor and heart. Readers also praise the excellent audiobook narration by Tom Taylorson, who apparently does a phenomenal job bringing the cast to life.

For fans of ultra-vivid world-building, propulsive plotting with wild twists and turns, a great sense of fun, and above all an obvious affection for our canine companions, "Good Boys - The Lost Tribe" is a must-read sci-fi adventure. I haven't had this much pure enjoyment from a book in a long time. Jeremy Robinson has outdone himself with an incredibly imaginative and endlessly entertaining intergalactic tale. I can't wait to rejoin this wonderful cast of characters - both human and alien - in the next installment of what promises to be a stellar trilogy.
