Lonely Shore

Felix and Zander are back aboard the Chaos, trying to rebuild their relationship while the crew keeps moving through a dangerous galaxy. Zander’s body and mind are deteriorating from alien poison left over from military experimentation, and he tries to hide how bad it is even as the symptoms worsen.

As the crew faces renewed pressure from a ruthless criminal cartel, the danger around them escalates. Zander is forced to push himself harder, which makes his condition even worse and eventually leaves him unable to keep the truth from Felix and the others. The ship’s crew becomes increasingly involved as they try to manage the threat, protect one another, and find a way forward.

A desperate search for help leads the crew into contact with alien allies and unfamiliar solutions, while Felix has to cope with the possibility of losing Zander all over again. The story focuses heavily on love, grief, trust, and the strain of caring for someone in crisis, while still moving through spacefaring conflict and a larger series arc.
