The Story
Fifty young people are suddenly taken to a prison after an algorithm predicts they will commit crimes later in life. They are told they can earn freedom only by identifying the future crime, confessing it, and showing remorse before turning 18.
The story follows five of the imprisoned teens through shifting viewpoints as they try to survive the closed system, build alliances, and make sense of who they are under pressure. Their time inside becomes as much about relationships, identity, and trust as about the prison itself.
As the deadline approaches, tensions rise and the larger purpose of the system starts to surface. The book moves toward a late reveal and a final turning point that reframes what has been happening, while leaving the emotional consequences and wider social implications in view.
