The Story
Amy uses a social media app that lets other people feel her emotions, and she has been broadcasting her mother’s illness and grief to thousands of followers. On the day of her mother’s funeral, Amy goes home and finds a stranger in her kitchen with explosives and a long-held demand to speak with her.
Cat lives in the orbit of a ferocious boyband fandom while secretly dating the group’s lead singer. As rumors spread and loyalties harden, she has to hide the relationship from her best friend and from a community that polices devotion aggressively.
The book alternates between Amy’s and Cat’s perspectives, slowly revealing how their stories connect. The structure builds toward twists, reversals, and an increasingly tense convergence, while the ending leaves some readers wanting more closure.
