Audrey Whitticomb grows up believing her mother is a city-saving superhero, while her own strange gift lets her sense hidden things about people. Her life feels unusual but safe until a supernatural attack and a string of missing girls force her to question everything she knows.

As Audrey learns that her family belongs to a secret world of Kin, Guardians, and Harrowers, she is pushed into a conflict her mother has tried to keep from her. Her powers, her friendships, and her uneasy relationship with Leon all become part of her search for the truth.
