More about this book

The Story

Set after the upheaval of the first book, the story follows Syd as he is made the public face of a new order he did not truly create. He is surrounded by shifting power structures, resentful factions, and a growing sense of guilt and grief as the world around him tries to define him for its own purposes.

When a strange illness begins spreading through the population, Syd, along with his bodyguard Liam and ally Marie, is drawn into a desperate search for answers. The three move through a tense political landscape where old systems have fallen, new authorities are in control, and no one agrees on what justice or equality should look like.

As the sickness worsens, the story turns into a race against time, with battles, betrayals, and hard choices forcing the characters to confront what their revolution actually changed. The book builds toward an unresolved, open-ended conclusion that leaves the future of the characters and their society uncertain.
