In Tau City, young women with Spark are chosen every decade for a ritual sacrifice that keeps the city running. Clara Birch expects her privileged life as a Spark Maiden to end on schedule, but when the rules shift and she is called into the tower early, everything she trusts begins to collapse.

As Clara is pulled deeper into the tower's secrets, rebellion stirs among the overlooked underclass, and other Spark Maidens and connected figures are drawn into a widening struggle over power, truth, and survival. The story follows multiple perspectives as relationships fracture, loyalties shift, and the hidden nature of the tower and its supposed god comes into question.

What begins as a ritual-based fantasy story opens into a much larger conflict involving multiple worlds or layers of reality, altered humans, and competing agendas. Clara, her fiancé Finn, rebel Jasina, and soldier Tyse become entangled in revelations that challenge everything they believed about their city, their bodies, and the forces controlling them.
