More about this book

The Story

In the small town of Darling, Delta Wilding and her younger sister Bee already live amid odd, unexplained happenings, an eccentric father, and a house that seems to have a mind of its own. When a boy falls from the sky into the woods behind their home, the sisters bring him inside and try to keep his existence hidden.

As suspicion spreads through town, the Wildings are forced to deal with a hostile mayor, a fraught relationship with Delta’s ex-boyfriend Tag, and the dangers of sheltering a being who is clearly not human. Delta’s growing attraction to the mysterious stranger intensifies the risks, while Bee and the family around them struggle to hold things together.

The story follows the sisters as they try to protect their guest, understand what he is, and navigate the fallout from secrets, fear, and conflicting loyalties. The narrative builds toward a romantic and emotional resolution, with an epilogue that leaves some questions open.
