The Story
Noah Oakman is a sixteen-year-old high school swimmer facing college pressure, a future he may not want, and a life that already feels too fixed. He has two best friends, a supportive family, and four strange fascinations that keep pulling his attention in odd directions.
After a drunken night at a party and an encounter that seems to involve hypnosis, Noah wakes to find small but unsettling changes in the people and world he knows. His mother has a scar, his friends’ obsessions have shifted, and even ordinary routines feel altered, while his strange fascinations remain the same.
As Noah tries to understand what happened, he becomes increasingly absorbed in patterns, connections, and the inner lives of others. The story follows his search for meaning, his growing awareness of loneliness and change, and the emotional consequences of trying to figure out who he is and what he wants.
