The Story

Chrissie is a mother and wife whose fear of loss is intensified by unresolved grief and family strain. When a stranger offers her a way to prevent the deaths of the people she loves, the price is choosing others to die in their place. After a frightening accident involving her daughter, she becomes entangled in the programme and begins to question what she has agreed to.

As Chrissie tries to understand the strange bargain, the story alternates with earlier timelines involving scientists and a secretive research project. Those scenes gradually reveal the origins of a medical breakthrough tied to regeneration, secrecy, and dangerous ethical choices. The present-day plot and the past eventually converge, exposing hidden connections between the characters.

Chrissie’s choices pull her deeper into hidden laboratories, secretive doctors, and a much larger scheme than she first understood. As the dangers to her family escalate, she has to confront the consequences of the programme and the people behind it. The story builds toward a reveal that explains why she was selected and what the real cost of the bargain is.
