The Story
Twins Rachel and Adam are sent to live with their grandmother in a quiet English village while their parents separate. The village feels off from the start: the locals are secretive, strange symbols appear everywhere, and the twins begin sensing that something buried in the town’s past is waiting to be found.
As they investigate, the twins encounter a mysterious boy and discover that their own unusual bond may be part of the puzzle. Archaeology, family history, dreams, rituals, and hidden artifacts draw them deeper into the village’s secrets, while the town’s residents work hard to keep the truth hidden.
The story builds toward a confrontation involving what has been concealed beneath the village and why so many people are afraid of it. The ending leaves major questions unresolved, and the book functions as the first installment in a larger series.
