More about this book

The Story

Months after escaping her father’s island, Juliet returns to London and tries to rebuild a respectable life under the care of a protective benefactor. She is still secretly pursuing a cure for her worsening illness, which ties her to her father’s experiments and to the darker impulses she fears in herself.

When a series of gruesome murders begins targeting people connected to Juliet, she realizes the killer may be tied to the horrors she thought she left behind. As she investigates, old allies and past loves reappear, and her search for answers pulls her deeper into danger, secrecy, and moral compromise.

Juliet must navigate the killer’s trail, the pressure of society, and the growing pull between two romantic possibilities while trying to understand what, exactly, she is capable of becoming. The mystery, the experiments, and the threat of her own worsening condition all converge toward a dangerous final reckoning.
