Echoes

Fiona and Miles, high school enemies selected for an internship in Germany, expect a competitive summer opportunity. Instead, their trip derails into danger when they wake up stranded together after a plane crash, with no clear memory of how they got there.

The story alternates between the island and an earlier Berlin thread, where the internship and company behind it do not seem to exist as promised. In both threads, Fiona and Miles try to survive, piece together clues, and decide whether they can trust each other or anyone else.

As the mystery deepens, the two timelines begin to overlap in unsettling ways and the truth stays just out of reach. The book moves toward a cliffhanger/open ending that leaves the larger situation unresolved and points toward more story to come.
