Distant Waves

Jane grows up in Spirit Vale, a New York community of mediums and spiritualists, with her mother and sisters. As she matures, she becomes skeptical, curious about science, and fascinated by Nikola Tesla, while also navigating family tensions and romantic feelings.

The family’s life expands beyond Spirit Vale through trips and encounters with historical figures, especially Tesla and other well-known names from the era. Jane’s sisters each develop different beliefs and desires, and the family’s mix of spiritualism, skepticism, ambition, and romance shapes their path toward Europe and the Titanic.

As the disaster approaches, predictions and supernatural hints build around the ship’s fate. When the family finally boards the Titanic, the story shifts into the sinking and its aftermath, mixing tragedy, invention, and an unexpected speculative turn that affects who survives and how the ending resolves.
