Bone Rider

Riley Cooper goes on the run after learning his lover Misha is a Russian mob assassin. While fleeing, he gets caught in the wake of an alien crash landing and is taken over by a sentient armor-and-weapons system that needs a human host to survive.

The alien, later named McClane, and Riley form a reluctant partnership as government troops, military officials, mob enforcers, and other pursuers close in. Misha races after Riley, desperate to win him back and determined to keep him safe, even as the situation grows more dangerous and chaotic.

As the chase spreads across the country, the story follows multiple perspectives from all sides of the conflict. The three central figures are forced into an increasingly personal and volatile alliance while they try to survive the fallout of first contact, pursuit, and their own tangled loyalties.
