The Story
A deadly superflu has already devastated the country, leaving scattered survivors to navigate a broken landscape. The volume follows several of them as they try to escape danger, find each other, and keep moving through a world filled with death and uncertainty.
As the survivors travel, their paths begin to converge: some flee major cities, some escape confinement, and some begin acting on strange dreams. At the same time, a shadowy figure keeps appearing in their nightmares and starts gathering followers, turning survival into something more organized and ominous.
The story advances through tense set pieces, grim encounters, and character introductions that prepare larger conflicts to come. It emphasizes the aftermath of collapse, the pull of opposing forces, and the uneasy sense that the survivors are being drawn toward choices that will shape the future.
