More about this book

The Story

Sixteen-year-old Sia lives in a divided future world of sealed sectors, constant surveillance, and a digital countdown telling her exactly how long she has left. Her sector has been marked for destruction, while a select few will be chosen for the New World. Sia begins with a bucket list and a grim acceptance of her fate.

As the days tick down, Sia navigates an emotionally fractured home, a strained friendship, and her own fear and determination. She meets the mysterious Mace, who pulls her toward rebellion and a possible way to fight back against the system deciding who lives and who dies. The threat of the cyborg army becomes more immediate as Sia starts looking beyond resignation.

Sia and a small group of rebels move from waiting to action, trying to challenge the New World and stop the slaughter. The story builds around the countdown, the worsening danger, and Sia’s changing choices as she struggles to protect herself and the people she loves before time runs out.
