Barrow King

Finn Caldwell, a former soldier and spy, is pulled out of hiding when his estranged sister sends a desperate call for help. To reach her, he enters The Realms, a game-like world where character builds, levels, and magical gear matter.

Inside the realm, Finn takes on a new identity and quickly finds himself trapped in a hostile dungeon run by a powerful, sentient enemy. He must learn the system fast, survive escalating monsters and traps, and gather allies while navigating his unfamiliar role as a new player with unusual advantages.

As the dungeon pressure mounts, Finn works toward escaping the Barrow and confronting the Barrow King, while the larger mystery around his sister, the world’s rulers, and the rules of The Realms begins to unfold. The book sets up a longer series arc even as it delivers a self-contained survival-and-progression adventure.
