More about this book

The Story

In a near-future Mexico shattered by violence and divided into separate territories, Cuauhtémoc Rojo loses everything in a single day and is pushed into a heavily controlled new society. As he tries to survive, he is drawn toward Mexicoland, a dazzling tourist attraction that showcases an idealized version of Mexican culture.

The more he moves through this world, the more he encounters strict laws, surveillance, hidden power structures, and people who may be watching or guiding him. He begins piecing together that the public story about this society is incomplete, and that the reality behind the walls is far darker than it appears.

Along the way, he is forced to navigate danger, shifting loyalties, and a growing sense that he is part of something much larger than himself. The story builds toward revelations about the society, his past, and the forces shaping the future of the country.
