More about this book

The Story

Kit logs into a full-immersion fantasy game and is trapped when a system malfunction prevents anyone from logging out. To make matters worse, she has been assigned a deliberately awful character build: a low-level elf dancer with few useful abilities and widespread social disadvantages.

To get free, Kit must complete an impossible quest and defeat the game’s ultimate villain. She gathers a makeshift party of low-level players and gets occasional help from one of the top players, while navigating game mechanics, combat, and the social fallout of being stuck in the wrong role.

As the group pushes through dangerous encounters, Kit has to adapt, lead, and make the most of a character designed as a prank. The story follows their attempts to survive, build trust, and reach the end of the quest before the game becomes permanent.
