Lost Cat

A private detective finds a lost cat in the rain and returns it to its owner, a woman who invites him in from the weather. Their conversation reveals shared loneliness, divorce, and a quick but powerful sense of connection.

Soon after, he arranges a date with her, only for her to vanish before it can happen. He begins searching for her while also handling another case involving a missing painting, and the two investigations start to echo each other.

As the detective keeps looking, the story grows stranger and more uncertain, blending noir investigation with dreamlike and science-fiction elements. What begins as a simple mystery becomes a story about loss, longing, and the possibility of imagining a life that never quite happened.
