Hovergirls

Jalissa and Kim Vasquez move together to Los Aguaceros, an alternate-city setting where both are trying to start over. Kim wants fashion, fame, and attention; Jalissa is recovering from a rough year and trying to keep herself together.

After a strange beach incident gives them supernatural powers, monsters begin attacking the city. Kim sees superhero work as a chance to become famous, while Jalissa is more reluctant and uses the fights as an outlet for her anger.

As they battle strange water-based creatures and navigate work, family tension, and their very different personalities, the cousins have to figure out what kind of heroes they want to be. The story leans on their dynamic, their changing relationship, and the bigger mystery around their powers and the threats to the city.
