Earth has been transformed by an alien arrival and a massive game-like system that ties virtual victories to real-world power. Alan, a college student and gamer, jumps into the immersive Game with little preparation, expecting play but finding a far larger conflict.

As Alan learns the rules, he levels up, takes missions, and navigates factions, politics, and the strange logic of a world where game actions have real consequences. He also relies heavily on his AI companion, Eve, while trying to understand what the Game really is and why it matters so much.
