More about this book

The Story

Elfreda Raughn lives inside a rigid sisterhood that governs its floating city through inherited magic, ritual sacrifice, and brutal rules about women’s bodies. She wants out from under the system’s demands, especially the fate tied to pregnancy and martyrdom.

When a secret faction offers her a way to escape, Elfreda becomes a spy and moves into the Sisterhood’s upper ranks. As she navigates parties, hierarchies, deceptions, and competing loyalties, she uncovers dangerous secrets about the order, its power, and the threats surrounding the city.

Her visions intensify, the political conflict deepens, and the story moves toward a confrontation that could change the Sisterhood and the city forever. Along the way, Elfreda must decide whom to trust and what she is willing to sacrifice to claim any real choice at all.
