Fluke

Fluke follows a mongrel puppy who begins life on the streets and gradually realizes he is not an ordinary dog. As he grows, flashes of a former human existence surface, driving him to question who he was and why he now lives as an animal.

The story moves through a series of hard, strange, and sometimes tender encounters with humans and other animals as Fluke learns how to survive. Along the way he forms key bonds, especially with an older, streetwise dog, while his memories and instincts keep pulling him toward the life he left behind.

As the past becomes clearer, Fluke travels in search of the truth about his death and the family he remembers. The book builds toward a final explanation that ties together his identity, his memories, and the meaning of his unusual existence.
