Mia Price survives repeated lightning strikes and craves the storms that hurt her, even as she tries to keep the damage hidden. After a devastating earthquake transforms Los Angeles into a ruined, rationed, danger-filled city, she and her family struggle to stay alive.

As two opposing groups rise to power, both become convinced Mia is central to their apocalyptic beliefs. One side follows a prophetic leader; the other opposes him, and neither is willing to let Mia remain neutral. At the same time, a mysterious boy named Jeremy keeps appearing in her life, warning her while also hiding things from her.

Caught between cult conflict, family crisis, and a strange power she doesn’t fully understand, Mia has to decide whom to trust and how far she’ll go to protect the people she loves. The story builds toward a final disaster where her abilities, her choices, and her loyalties all collide.
