Thirteen-year-old Sel lives in the isolated town of Tremorglade, where once a month the adults transform into werewolves and the children are tasked with locking them up and keeping the town safe. Life is tightly controlled, routine, and strange in ways everyone has learned to accept.

When unsettling incidents begin piling up—odd behavior, escaped Rippers, strange technology, and signs that someone is watching—the town’s normal rules start to fail. Sel and his friends begin investigating and quickly realize that Tremorglade’s problems may go far beyond the monthly transformations.

As the mystery deepens, the kids are pushed into danger and forced to decide who they can trust. What they uncover suggests that the monster problem in Tremorglade may not be what it first seemed, and the truth has been hidden for a reason.
