Origins

Karina Tucker is driving a van of children home from a field trip when an ordinary stop becomes the start of something impossible. She and her daughter are pulled into a hidden world of powerful beings, violence, and unfamiliar rules, where survival depends on making an immediate, terrible choice.

To live, Karina must accept protection from a feared and dangerous man whose needs keep her tied to him and whose world treats her as a scarce resource. As she tries to protect Emily, she must navigate captivity, shifting loyalties, and a society split by conflict among beings with unusual powers.

The story follows Karina as she adapts, resists, and gradually finds leverage in a situation built on coercion. The conflicts escalate into open danger and battle, while the ending leaves room for more stories in the same world.
