More about this book

The Story

Mishka Le'Ace is sent to rescue AIR agent Jaxon Tremain after he is captured and tortured for information about a dangerous alien case. She is not an ordinary operative: she has been engineered, augmented, and controlled by a chip that can punish her if she disobeys.

Jaxon initially sees Mishka as a possible threat, but their attraction becomes immediate and intense. As they are forced into close contact, they begin to uncover each other’s hidden motives, damaged pasts, and growing trust, even while his allies and her controller both stand against them.

Their larger mission involves a newly arrived alien race spreading a deadly virus among humans, while Mishka’s own struggle for autonomy threatens to destroy any chance they have together. The story follows their attempt to survive the case, resist outside control, and decide whether love can exist under coercion and danger.
