Re-Coil

Carter Langston is part of a deep-space salvage crew in a future where people can back up their minds and be re-coiled into new bodies after death. During a salvage mission, he is killed and wakes in a new body with missing memory from the time leading up to his death.

Before he can make sense of what happened, Carter is attacked again and forced into a running fight for survival. He reconnects with crew member Shay Chan, and together they try to find their missing shipmates, understand what they uncovered, and stay ahead of an assassin and a powerful corporation.

As the mystery widens, the story shifts from investigation into an action-heavy chase across space habitats and ships. What Carter and Shay discover points to a larger threat involving advanced AI, body technology, and a danger that could affect humanity itself.
