More about this book

The Story

Alicen McCaffrey’s seemingly perfect life falls apart after a tragedy leaves her overwhelmed with grief, guilt, and doubt. Seeking distance and help, she goes with a childhood friend to a small Montana town tied to her happiest memories and to her grandmother’s troubled past.

There, Alicen begins hearing voices and seeing strange figures, and she has to decide whether she is losing her mind or encountering something real. As she enters a mental health treatment setting and old family tensions resurface, the story keeps circling the question of what is delusion and what is spiritual reality.

The narrative follows Alicen’s inner battle as she confronts shame, fear, family pressure, and the possibility of healing. Friendship, faith, and unresolved dangers all press in as the story moves toward a revelation about loss, grace, and how she will understand herself and her experience.
