More about this book

The Story

Chipper is a specially engineered dog created by a secret organization to combine canine instincts with computer technology. When his makers decide he is too hard to control, he escapes and sets out on a mission of his own while the people who built him hunt him down.

Jeff is a twelve-year-old boy living with his aunt and working at her lakeside cabin-rental business after losing his parents. He meets Emily, a tech-savvy girl with access to an abandoned train station hideout, and the two are pulled into Chipper’s dangerous flight when the dog turns up in their world.

As Jeff and Emily discover that Chipper can connect to computers and communicate through his implanted technology, they learn his arrival is no accident. The chase intensifies as the secret organization closes in, old questions about Jeff’s past begin to surface, and the story drives toward a cliffhanger that leads into the next book.
