The Story
In Eastbury, Massachusetts, children begin dying or disappearing under unsettling circumstances. One family is shaken by an infant death that does not feel natural, while another is thrown into panic when a young boy vanishes. As the adults start comparing notes, they suspect the town is hiding a larger pattern.
Their search pulls them into a covert medical and genetic research operation involving children, surveillance, and powerful institutions. The investigation moves through doctors, schools, records, and suspicious authorities as the parents and a few allies try to understand what is being done to the town’s children and why.
As the truth comes into focus, the story shifts from mystery to panic and confrontation. The hidden project is exposed, motives are revealed, and the ending turns dark and unsettling, with the book leaning on late twists and a bleak resolution.
