Gyo, Vol. 1

A young couple on vacation in Okinawa encounters a strange fish that seems to be walking on mechanical legs, along with a foul smell that grows harder to ignore. What first looks like a bizarre accident quickly turns into a much larger and more threatening phenomenon.

As more sea creatures appear on land, the situation spreads from a local disturbance into a wider crisis. The couple try to make sense of what is happening, and the story expands into investigation, infection, and hints of a hidden cause behind the creatures.

The volume builds the horror through escalating encounters, grotesque imagery, and mounting uncertainty. It ends as part of a larger narrative, with the mystery and outbreak still developing rather than fully resolved.
